Shield in the architecture means the upper part of the front or facade , which closes the top of a gable roof or cover part and thus forms the attic. The shield has a triangular shape and is also color-coded. At home, this shield has an attic closure function. The roof can overlap the shield or, on the other hand, reach the roof of the house.
