What is a cork
Cork is a natural material that has excellent insulating properties because it does not leak water or gases. It is made from bark of cork oak, which grows mainly in the Mediterranean, more precisely in Portugal, Spain and Morocco. Typical annual cork production is estimated at around 300,000 tons. Since it is an excellent insulator, cork is used in many industries. It produces plugs, floor coverings, or shoe insoles. Thanks to cork it is now possible to store wine more efficiently.
