The satellite city is a municipality, possibly an artificially created settlement complex, which is located near the city, industrial area. Satellite cities may have a different focus, such as industrial, military, recreational, historical and many others. The satellite city has begun to expand in the Czech Republic since the 1990s. The satellite city, unlike the classic agglomeration, lacks the natural center and basic services and the inhabitants remain dependent on the nearest town.
