Diffuse radiation is scattered. This type of radiation is generated by the molecules of air, water and dust particles that are part of the Earth's atmosphere. This phenomenon occurs naturally in the cloudy sky. Generating diffusion radiation in an artificial way is relatively complex. Large-area luminaires and diffusers that are commonly used mainly in photographic studios or TV studios, where soft shadows with a lack of sharp interface are required.
